Assessment and Evaluation

Before you arrive at LanguageUK, you will be given a test to help us place you in the most suitable class for your level. We will also interview you either by telephone or on the day of your arrival in order to establish the standard of your spoken English. After this you will join a class of students and we will continue to monitor your progress throughout your stay by means of tests, tutorials and homework checks. As your opinion is important to us, we will ask you to complete questionnaires on a regular basis, informing us of your satisfaction with the school, your lessons, the teachers, the social programme and accommodation.

Students staying for 4 weeks or more will meet with our Head of English every 4 weeks for a tutorial in which you will have the opportunity to talk about your stay in detail. A record is kept of these meetings and any areas of concern will be closely monitored.

Your teachers will give you regular class tests to check your progress and, again, a record will be kept of the scores.

Cross-reference of levels of English, the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and popular exam scores. Please note that the table below is for guidance only and should not be used as an exact indicator.
