LanguageUK offer an English scools course for Juniors in Canterbury.  Courses are written and designed to meet the needs of your students. LanguageUK Junior English Courses take place in Canterbury. The course is available for school groups from September to the end of June.  For groups interested in coming for a course in the summer, please click onto our junior summer school page.

Our school is just a 5 minute walk from the city centre.  We have 9 spacious classrooms with modern facilities. We also offer a lunch everyday in our canteen.  We have a large school hall for workshops, sports and dancing and a private and large courtyard garden for the students to enjoy during the warmer months.

Canterbury is an important historic city and is home to the famous Canterbury Cathedral.  There are museums, cinemas and many other places of historic and cultural interests.  Canterbury also has three universities and therefore a vibrant student community. There are many shops and coffee bars in Canterbury and a large shopping mall with a number of high street shops and boutiques. Canterbury is just 1 hour away by train from the centre of London.  The city is very safe and has been voted the safest university city in England.

Course Structure

Weekly lessons

The students can study from a choice of lessons relating to:
British school life
Aspects of British culture
History and information related to the trips and activities the students will attend

All lessons will focus on communication, encouraging the students to improve their fluency skills, particularly speaking and listening skills. The students will study elements of British culture through class workshops and project work relating to some of the activities and events outside class time. This not only provides an opportunity to recycle new language, but also creates a focus and task through which to practise it.

Throughout their project work the students will also practise and develop other useful skills, such as conducting research, designing surveys, analysing and presenting data, taking part in role plays and producing different writing genres.

LanguageUK will send a sample programme first and is happy to talk about the lesson themes and ideas.
