Your Intensive General English + Cambridge Exam preparation course at LanguageUK will combine 15 hours per week of general English development in the mornings with 6 hours of specific afternoon training on exam technique and practice of each module of the exam. You can take the exam at our local centre, depending on dates and availability (please enquire) or back in your own country.

Designed For

Both of our courses are aimed at students who wish to improve their English for academic or employment purposes and who need an internationally-recognised qualification for their careers. You can choose to take one of these options at any time of the academic year (depending on availability) and you will also have the opportunity to take the exam in the UK if you are taking your course with us during the time of the official exam dates.

Intensive General English + Cambridge Exam preparation course

Morning classes

During the mornings, you will be studying in a class suitable to your level of English. We will always send you the entrance test before you arrive unless otherwise instructed. Our teachers will use a course book that covers different areas of the language, with a focus on grammar and vocabulary. They will also use a number of other resources and materials either in text form or from a selection of media including the internet, radio and television. You will be given the opportunity to:

  • Improve your knowledge of grammar
  • Learn new vocabulary through speaking, listening and reading
  • Be exposed to and take part in conversation to improve your fluency
  • Focus on your writing skills, looking at different types of written text and register
  • Practise your pronunciation including individual sounds, stress and intonation
  • Consolidate what you have learned through regular review activities

Every day you will be given approximately 1 hour of homework. If you are a long term student, you will be given a test on a regular basis so that you can track your progress.

Courses start at various times throughout the year (please enquire) and the maximum class size is 10.

 

Afternoon classes

You will be given the option to prepare for your Cambridge examination.

The option runs throughout the year and the focus is on exam technique and content. We try to tailor the course to meet the requirements of the participants.

  • Focus on academic skills to better perform in your exam

Afternoon classes

You will continue to prepare for your Cambridge examination.

The focus will still be on exam technique and content. We try to tailor the course to meet the requirements of the participants.

During your intensive course you will be given the opportunity to:
